Pre-Production is moving a little slow, but that's to be expected with my present injury. I'm trying to be as productive about this project as I can. Especially since I'm too injured to do Times of Desperation, I've got more time at the moment to make sure everything is executed right.
The (proper) debut full length will have all of the things that people who like the band like us for. I saw Tommy tonight and he is on board. His job season will be slowing down in October or so, so we will be rehearsing together soon and will be looking for shows in the October-December time. For those of you who are totally unfamiliar with the band; you can check out a small idea (read: incredibly subdued) of what the band sounds like. I have not uploaded any new material to our Myspace (RIP) since I was working on "Giallo Terrore" by myself sometime in 2007-2008 and, while ACIDCOP retains the same elements, having another member to contribute to the writing and recording process is going to be a bit different, to say the least.
Why no newer updates on the Myspace? Well, before I decided to keep performing live and add my buddy to the mix, I was working (and at times STILL AM) on what was to be my only official release seeing as how there's not really a demand for this type of experimental music. It's not Noise in the traditional sense, it's not exactly industrial, it's not exactly music concrete. Who would we play with?
Well, that's never stopped anyone before me (now us) and that's why there are noise shows and more venues for experimental music; thanks in no small part to everyone before us.
Also, I was going through a tough time and came down with a heavy dose of Writer's Block, so it still remains unfinished. Not to mention the equipment I was using at the time and the advancements I've be able to afford/acquire since. G.T. will get a release in the future. A proper one. When Tommy became part of the band, we recorded a demo for a show and despite a really killer opening band on tour from Seattle, it was pretty empty so it didn't end up in many hands. Good thing because I finished it in such a rush that I didn't notice a couple of mixing and mastering flaws. Oops! That's why I haven't uploaded anything new to there.
BUT, I will treat this blog as my (hopefully temporary) home on the internet and will upload full tracks of new material from the upcoming debut as it is finished in addition to other snippets.
At this point, it looks like we are planning for a Digital release followed by a possible Vinyl release. CD-Rs will be sold at our shows with full artwork. I don't care that they will be CD-Rs because people are just going to rip them anyway. At least do it at either 320k MP3 or FLAC for your files. Get the most out of it, don't just half ass it.
In short; Tommy is on board. Rob's working on pre-production and basic tracking still, and the whole thing will be available (most likely) before the end of the year. I won't get into any more car accidents and now that I have a laptop dedicated to being an instrument/sequencer, a digital 8 track recorder and Pro Tools 9 on our Mac, I don't see anything stopping us from getting anything done.
As always, you can book us for shows at ACIDCOPBOOKING@GMAIL.COM
